How to leave a Legacy to Headway

If you do leave a legacy to Headway Rotherham, we would like to acknowledge your special support by keeping you up to date on our work and by sending you copies of the newsletter for Headway Rotherham. Therefore, it would be appreciated if you would also complete and send us the pledge form - you can link to a copy using the link at the bottom of this page. You are, of course, under no obligation to do so. The information will be treated as strictly confidential.

1. A Residuary Bequest
You may wish to leave specific sums and properties to a named person, and the rest of your estate, or some fraction therefore, to Headway. The recommended wording for such a bequest is:

Subject to the payment of my just debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and any legacies, I give all the residue of my estate, both real and personal, to Headway Rotherham - part of the brain injury association, (registered charity number) 1097470
of Kirk House, Browning Road, Rotherham, S65 2LG
The receipt of the Treasurer, or other authorised officer, shall be sufficient discharge of the same.

2. A Bequest of a Fixed Sum
You may wish to leave a specific sum of money to Headway. The recommended wording for such a bequest is:

I give to Headway the brain injury association, (registered charity number ) 1097470 of Kirk House, Browning Road, Rotherham, S65 2LG, the sum of £________ free of all taxes and duties and linked to the retail price index from today and I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer, or other authorised officer, shall be sufficient discharge of the same.

3. Adding a Codicil to an Existing Will
If you have already written your Will, you can include Headway by adding a Codicil which avoids the expense of changing your Will. All you need to do is complete the codicil form and send it back to us - you can download a copy using the link below. This should be signed by you and witnessed by two people, and can then be appended to your existing Will.
